My name is Nathaniel Marvin Trudes McLaughlin — but almost everyone calls me Trudes or Nate. I was born in early 2000, just after the Y2K scare, which I like to joke means I was destined for a tech-related career. I’ve lived in Vermont my entire life, and growing up here has shaped a lot of how I think. Between long winters, quiet towns, and plenty of time to tinker, I naturally gravitated toward technology, games, and problem-solving.
I’ve always had a strong curiosity for how systems work — especially when they don’t work the way they’re supposed to. Whether it was modding consoles, jailbreaking phones, building PCs, or setting up servers, I’ve consistently been drawn to pushing limits and understanding what’s happening under the hood. All of this feeds into how I approach technical work. I’m persistent, curious, and comfortable spending time learning something deeply if it means getting the result right. I enjoy building things that people actually use, and I take pride in making systems that are reliable, thoughtful, and well put together.
I’m looking for opportunities where curiosity, adaptability, and problem-solving are valued. If I’m given ownership over something meaningful, I’ll put in the time and effort to understand it fully and make it the best version it can be.
Outside of tech, I’m someone who values balance. I have six brothers, which taught me early on how to communicate clearly, stand my ground, and work through problems with other people. I’ve been with my girlfriend for over four years, and we have a corgi named Clyde who keeps things entertaining.
Some things I genuinely enjoy:
• Snowboarding or skiing whenever I get the chance
• Spending time with my family, friends, girlfriend & dog
• Exploring Vermont mountains when the weather’s warm
• Retro Nintendo games, Minecraft, Rust, Fortnite, and Geometry Dash
• Tinkering with technology just for the sake of learning
• Drinking Yerba Mate daily
• Music from before I was born
• Burgers — always burgers
If you’ve read this far, thanks for taking the time to learn more about me. Whether it’s a job opportunity, a project, or just a conversation, I’m always open to connecting.
